Conway Lawn Tennis Club has received a Highly Commended accolade for Club the Year in the LTA Regional Awards 2022.
The LTA Tennis Awards celebrate the achievements made by outstanding individuals and venues in tennis throughout the past year, from grassroots tennis to elite performance, and this latest honour for Conway Tennis Club, situated between Palmers Green and Southgate, follows on from winning the Middlesex County 2022 Club of the Year award.
Chairman of the club, Graham Sievers commented “Winning this Highly Commended award from the national body underlines the extraordinary work of the volunteers and the coaches, who, together with the members, help make the club such a thriving community.”
“And we are not resting on our laurels” Graham added. “Our Café in Conway Recreational park has been a great success, serving, as one Italian member told us, the best coffee outside Italy! Plus we have now re-opened membership, and our coaching team have introduced new options for great value sessions from juniors through to adults, from beginners through to advanced. Our Head Coach has just completed her LTA Level 4 training, to become one of the highest qualified coaches in the area.”
A local business, Winchmore Brickwork Ltd, has sponsored the juniors, and the club is seeking further community-minded support for its inclusivity and training initiatives.
