Summer Leagues: Conway LTC Prepares for Battle!

Middlesex Slazenger summer leagues are just getting under way and Conway LTC is preparing the ground for a competitive season.

We enjoyed several practice/review sessions during April. All those interested in playing inter-club matches were encouraged to join the action and nearly 60 Club members responded.

It was great to see so much interest, despite inclement weather. A couple of evenings were restricted to the very bravest souls, but other sessions attracted large numbers of members to show their skills, sometimes between showers.

The full spectrum of talent was on display. Many experienced players turned out and it was good, too, to see our newer members and advanced juniors getting involved. The very best players joined in and members were able to appreciate the high skill levels that our top players bring to the Club as well as the energy and endeavour offered by those still developing their craft!

The captains have now settled squads for our six league teams. Indeed, the response was so strong that we hope to arrange some friendly matches with other clubs to give as many as possible some experience of match tennis.
