Conway LTC Achieves Tennis Clubmark
Posted on 25 September 2010
Clubmark was introduced in 2002 by Sport England to improve the service offered by clubs of more than 30 different sports, particularly with regard to work with children.
Tennis Clubmark is Tennis’ version: the LTA’s club accreditation programme. All types of club can apply and try to achieve Tennis Clubmark. Success means the LTA endorses and supports a club’s tennis programmes and the way it manages its affairs.
Tennis Clubmark offers a framework to help clubs improve themselves. The aims are to provide excellent playing opportunities – including competitions – to players of all abilities, to help people enjoy the game and improve their skills, and to ensure the well-being of young tennis players.
Achieving Tennis Clubmark improves access to funding sources that can help a club improve its facilities.
Conway LTC is one of the first clubs in the area to achieve Tennis Clubmark. This is a new landmark for a small Club that has served its local community for at least four generations. It reflects the effort put into the running of the Club by coaches and volunteers and recognises the highly popular and successful activities the Club offers to its members of all ages and to local schools and youth organisations.
